Ocean color

The primary production of the ocean can be monitored by an UAS equipped with a hyperspectral imager

Ocean color provides information on chlorophyll A concentration and primary production in the ocean. In addition information about suspended particulate matter and algae concentrations can be derived. A UAS based hyper spectral imager can be used to monitor algae blooms even under cloudy conditions. The hyper spectral imager carried by CryoWing was designed and built by Prof. Fred Sigernes at UNIS (University Center at Svalbard)

- Determine chlorophyll A concentrations and primary production rates

- Monitor algae
